The Five Guys success story began in 1986 in Arlington, Virginia, when Jerry and Janie Murrell gave their sons good advice: "Open a business or go to college." The business idea won and the Murrell family opened their first burger joint, called Five Guys - after the five brothers. The formula was as simple as it could be.
