About company
The Finow elementary school has existed since 1969. It is a state school. In the school year 1994/95 the State European School Berlin (SESB) started with us with the language combination German and Italian.
About 85.4% of the students come from families of non-German origin. It is precisely this multicultural mixture that makes a positive contribution to international understanding.
The aim of our school is to get to know the different cultures and countries of origin of our students, to break down prejudices against people from another cultural area through daily interaction with them and, especially in the SESB, to acquire and master both partner languages German and Italian. From the 5th grade onwards, we offer English as an additional foreign language.
At the Finow elementary school there are 24 classes, which are divided into two classes in the regular school area and the European school area. Around 550 students attend the school. 44 teachers teach at our school. 13 colleagues come from Italy .
29 educators are available for supervision. In addition, there are 12 Italian native speakers who work in the classes for 10 hours a week and are available.
In the regular area of our school, there is care for children with after-school care contracts, which is characterized by the same activities. As an all-day school within the SESB, we offer not only lessons but also care blocks in which the children can also carry out work groups and other activities.
After completing primary school, the pupils of the Staatliche Europa-Schule can switch to the Albert Einstein Gymnasium or the Alfred Nobel Integrated Secondary School, the students from the regular area to a secondary school (Integrated Secondary School or Gymnasium) of their choice.
