About company
Bresse-Gauloise , East Frisian gulls , Kollbecksmoor chicken , Vorwerk chickens and many other poultry breeds are threatened with extinction. The population of these species must be increased sustainably through targeted breeding and the continued existence of the species must be ensured.
We are committed to the preservation of dying poultry breeds . In our poultry farm in Wangersen near Ahlersteht we mainly breed the Bresse-Gauloise from France, the East Frisian seagull, the Vorwerk chicken and the Kollbecksmoor chicken from the Vorwerk chicken. The breeding animals are selected according to certain characteristics and criteria. The useful properties of the animals are in the foreground and the poultry breeds are assessed on the basis of external characteristics.
Aims of the maintenance breeding rings
The aim of every breeding ring is to sustainably preserve the so-called genetic diversity, as well as its useful properties (such as number and size of eggs) of these old chicken breeds .
The prevention of inbreeding by passing the breeding cocks on to other members of the breeding ring is very important and is only possible through the so-called breeding rings.
