On the history of the new building of the Prignitz district hospital In 2003, after four years of construction, the new building of the Prignitz district hospital at the Dobberziner Strasse site in Perleberg was put into operation. In this way, an idea was realized that was born in the 1970s. Because at several locations in Wittenberge and Perleberg, the patients were cared for in the hospital. Three proposals for the settlement of the new central district hospital were discussed intensively in the early 1990s: Wittenberge, Perleberg or a forest hospital at a completely different location. Perleberg was able to prevail. The district hospital has become very well established and developed here. Since 2008, the ADAC has also operated an air rescue service here in cooperation with the health company. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary in 2013, a chronicle of the district hospital was drawn up.
